Introduction:Welcome to our weather game

1. It is to increase the awareness of global warming to the people of Singapore.

2. It will also bring out the message and knowlegde of global warming .

Number of players: 2-4

Board Game Consist of:

1) Game pieces of 4

2. 2 decks of cards known as “..chance........ and ..fate.....”(pls find a good name please).

3. 2 dices

4. 100 coins

Rules of game:

1. Put the games pieces on the the box “START”

2. Pieces:-Lightning

   -Sun

-Rain

-Cloud

3. Each player would start with 2 coins at the start of the game\

4. There would be 2 dotted boxes for the cards to be placed in

5. There would be 3 different clour boxes. Blue – add 2 coin. Red – minus 1 coin(might increase when player has more than 5 coins maximum 2) Green- bring you to a special alley which get yourself 3 coins for every box you pass by

   A special card would be given which will give you a special right for a turn

6. It is to allow you to jump over the dangerous and irratating red boxes.

7. When you land on a blue box , you would have to answer a question. If you are able answer the question correctly from the card deck from “fate” . You can earn a extra of 1 coin.this can be increase by rolling a dice

8. If u land on the red box. You would be ask a question from the “chance deck of cards”. If you are able to answer the question, the minusing of coins would be cancelled.

9. To win the game, you would have to get 4 out of 4 of the go-green items.

10. The minimum bid for each would be from 1 to 30 coins.the person with the highest bid get the item

11. Once a item is collect a card would be given to show that u had collected the item. Card can only collected when everyone had bidded.when play get it he would ge the coins the other players have bidded.

12. And the person would continue with the coins left with him.

13) when a player had passed the start line, he would be given another 2 coins.

my task

After i took some pictures of the game that wei liang and wei qin created, the game aroused my attention, and i found that the game was fun and meaningful to play. But i have some points that they have to take notes of, for example -what is the snakes and ladders for in this game? And how the cards look like.

What are the design of the cards? Maybe we should draw about some weather on the card, shows the players the impact of not caring of the environment.

I don't think that the “good and bad” compartment is appropriate. If people stepped onto the bad part, they would know that the game is no longer fun to play. We should create a part like the monopoly is, like chances and fates. So the game would become more exciting.

The board design is too plain. I hope that they can design more beautifully, people would be attracted to play this game, and they would know more about the weather. By the way, what is the purpose of the route for? Is it for property? I have asked wei liang about it. He said that this is not for property, then what is it for. It would be great that he can suggest more about the route.

Overall the game is average, but if more people are willing to contribute building this game, i am sure that this is more than an average game to play.

My Reflection 12

While doing the product, the first thing we have to decide about is the materials for the product. Some of us wanted it to be cardboard, which I was one while some wanted other materials. Next, is to spread out the work among us. As you might know, some of us do not have the time to do the work, so it is very hard for spreading the work. Also, some of us do not like to do the work that Tian Zhen give to us. Next, is the rules for the board game and how it look like. The rules is one hard one as the game must be about the same as the monopoly and also how it look like. Also, the rules and the design for the board game are in charge by Wei Qin and me. We go and find the rules of the monopoly as referencing and also find the right material for the board game. That is why I think that it is very hard.

I look forward to the next lesson and hope that Jian Sheng had taken some photo of our product.

Reflection 11

I saw our group's game. We created this game based on monopoly and snake and ladders. The game experience is difference from this two games. Some people would feel bored after playing one games. But our game is different from the market. We combined snake and ladders and monopoly into this special game, so the patrons would not find it boring. After seeing the rule of the game, i think that we should change some rules of the games.

My product look like Monopoly, but it is in cloud shape. The background is blue in colour. From my opinion, my group should be taking the direction where we will use the cardboard provided by Wei Yang to form the board of the game. For the coins, we will be using cardboard also. Also, for the cards, cardboard will be used. But as for the game pieces, my group is still discussing about what material we should use. From the product, I learn about how to use materials to "construct" a board game. Also, I learn about how to protect the weather. As for the improvement, I decided to that we should improve more on the thickness of the board. Lastly, I look forward to the next IPW lesson where we will talk more about our product.

Today, we are discussing how the board game should be like. We together came up first with how the board game should look like. It should be in cloud shape and so on. As we have now come up with the rules yet, Tian Zhen decide to entrust the task of coming up with rules to me and Wei Qin.
We came up with how the game should be played and also how to win the game.After days of hard work, me and Wei Qin finally finish it. I hope that Tian Zhen will accept it.

okay,now we have finally come to the week 10...it's quite surprising actually when i try to recall back those memories from the first week till now,shocked that we can always finished our task on time!

In this week,my team members were not so cooperative as before.Some of them were even quarreling.i did try to stop them,wish that will help.Okay,apart from that,we have finish our product description, although it was quite hard that i actually have to ask every single question again and again until i finally got an answer from them,"lucky" that they answered in the end.

I think weiqing and weiliang is making the product in this week..i wish they work fine and will concentrate on making the product,no doing something else.

in lesson 10, we are done about the survey. and we think that we might want to combine the board game together with the card game. and we can do it by letting playing card game while they can play board . i think that should be enough for this project, since some of them prefer card game than board game. it clash with our board game idea and so , we thought of combining them together.

The three things which i learnt that by doing a survey for our ipw projec allow us to know our audience reactions and feelings for each uestions asked.I learnt that it is important to choose the right audience as it may effect the result.For our survey we chose teens as our audience.the results shown were very confusing and unclear.Lastly is the part when we did our presentation.

Mrs Neo told us on how we could do for our presentation.

The two intersting things were surveying and the brainstorming for our project.

During the survey we can see different people reactions to the survey and during the barinstorming i found it very fun,as our group communicated very easily and proceeded very far in dicuusion, sharing our ideas.The only difficulty was the part which our teamates were not in a mood in doing the project and makes me very irrated

Thanks for all the people who took the appreciation to take the survey. I am very happy that people knows about what is global warming. And i am elated to know that people recycle, reduce and reuse paper. The things that is interesting in the survey is some people likes board games and card games. But the majority of the people like card games, so i hesitated that which game we should create. It would be great if we can create a board games with cards. But one difficulty is half of the people that took the survey said that playing card/board games would not increase their interest on environment awareness. So we don't know that whether create card/board game would increase their awareness. So i think we should ask for suggestion in the survey about which type of game we should create even though we don't have the chance now.

From the results for question one and two it is not useful as now it confuses for what game we would really want to do: either a board game or a card game.This is one important thing we will have to discuss before creating our product.As for the last question, I think that it should be all 3s as people should know that we should save the earth from dying. From this survey, I learnt that people should think more about earth and save the earth from dying. It is then the earth will not be gone.

I fine that the results for question one and two are not really useful as now it makes us even more confuse for what game we would really want to do a board game or card game.So that maybe a fact we would want to discuss about . From the last question, i personally feel that it should be 100% yes as it is our resposibilthy to save the earth through the 3rs .This make us more motivated to make a better game to make sure that people would be aware of global warming and do their part to save the earth

Base on the graph that have shown in the survey result,i can say that  people who like whether board game or card game are almost the same.Most of the people lnow about global warming,but there are still people not sure,so our board game might help them in the end. The fourth question reflected that people thought that games might not help them all as the answer that the people choose are almost the same,it's just that 'yes" is slightly more.i'm glad that actually many people did reduce,reuse,recycle.There are a small population of people that not sure if they had done the 3Rs.I think that our board game might help this people,and them understand that the importance of reduce,reuse and recycle.

Last week, the week before the holiday, we decided to spread the completed survey to our friends via Facebook and email, as suggested by our leader, Tian Zhen. We aim to get at least 50 replies to our survey but we only get a total of 12 replies from our friends. We decided to send them again so that they will get a knowledge of it. I look forward to the next lesson .

For last week,(the week before holiday).So glad that i still remember:)
Our group thought about the way to spread our survey,weiyang said that some people went to post their survey on web or send it to other friends.I thought it was a good idea,so i took this part,and created a survey online,then i pasted it onto Facebook .It was quite little people did the survey,since the last checked at 9.30pm of 21 march ,there are only 11people actually did the survey...i think it's ok,because weiyang is doing the hard copy one,he said that he will try to spread the survey around his neighborhood..it would be good if he can gather up to 50 peoples.
Jian Sheng did help me to spread the survey,but others i wasn't sure what were they doing.I wish they work fine.
Tomorrow will be school reopen,so people please prepare .

Using A4 size paper is a good idea. But we should cut the paper into more portion so we can can save paper. As our project is about global warming, we should save more paper and thus lesser tree would be cut down down. And we should also use recycled paper so usage of paper could be reduced.

In this lesson we learnt how to make a survey.We brainstormed on the questions we will be using for the survey. Our target population is 50. Size of the survey would be 1/4 if a a4 paper.WE will only be using 5 questions.
